This position works closely with the Finance Manager to ensure that the day-to-day accounting operations and financial management functions are carried out in accordance with Commission policy, procedures, guidelines and systems, as well as GASB reporting requirements and generally accepted accounting principles. To perform highly technical accounting functions such as maintaining all accounts within the General Ledger, developing tools for analysis, record reconciliation, posting to accounts and assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the budgets of the various departments within the Commission.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Preference for CPA, CPFO, or CGFO certification.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience. Preference for experience working in the finance department of a public water/sewer utility and/or experience auditing a public water/sewer utility.
The qualified candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with customers and other employees, demonstrate strong organizational skills, give excellent attention to detail, and have the ability to prioritize workflow while meeting timely deadlines.
